Formic acid is one of the basic organic chemical raw materials, widely used in pesticide, leather, dye and rubber industries. Formic acid can be used directly in fabric processing, leather tanning, textile printing and dyeing, and storage of green fodder. It can also be used as a metal surface treatment agent, rubber auxiliary and industrial solvent. Formic acid is used for decalcifier; reducer in dyeing for wool fast colors; dehairing and plumping hides; tanning; electroplating; coagulating rubber latex; silage and grain preservation; additive in regenerating old rubber; solvents of perfume; lacquers; alkylating agent for alcohols; carboxylating agent for tertiarycompounds. It is also used as an intermediate for the production of a wide variety of products in the chemicals and industries.
